Business-technology Accelerator UKIM is established to identify and support the growth and competitiveness of the most promising technology entrepreneurs, startups, spin-offs and scale-ups in Macedonia. BAU provides access to knowledge and smart investment: 1) Pre-Acceleration program: identify and support the most promising business ideas among students and spin-offs form the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia (UKIM), by structure the ideas into potential startups and get them ready for Acceleration Program, and 2) Acceleration Program: intensive three-month training and mentorship program that will lead the technology startups to become investment and market ready, and targeting pre and early stage revenue startups. The startups will be guided in all phases of business development, including development of product/service, team, value proposition, market strategy, customer traction, business model, funding strategy, etc. Smart investment will be in the form of equity and/or debt instruments, or a mix, tailored to fit the opportunity, sector, market, etc, in following batches: 1) Pre-Seed Funding: up to €25,000 for product design and development, and / or early revenue generation. 2) Seed Funding: up to €75,000 for scaling-up of the business, market penetration, and / or revenue growth. Accelerator UKIM is founded Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Crimson Development Foundation, CEED Hub Skopje, RSM Macedonia, and the Foundation Prof. Dr. Dimitar Stamboliev, and co-financed by the Fund for Innovations and Technology Development of the Republic of Macedonia. It is the first of this kind of accelerator in Macedonia that combines the expertise of the biggest and most technologically advanced university in Macedonia, an investment/lending firm, financial advisory organizations, and business support institutions, which combine will support startups in market development, networking, and fundraising for follow-on investments.
